John Franz

John Franz, 89, of Brookhaven, PA, died on April 28, 2023, after a sudden deterioration of health.  

Born September 29, 1933, near Poprad, Czechoslovakia, he was the son of the late John and Marie (nee Spitzkoph) Franz.  

After graduating from Mastbaum Trade School, Phila. he worked for GE,  Phila. and Boeing Helicopters, Ridley Park as an engineering technician, until his retirement in 2010.  

He was a very involved church member of  Nativity Lutheran Church, Chester, and St. Timothy Lutheran, Aston.  He loved long-distance road trip vacations, reading, gardening, news, trains, classical music, photography, and get-togethers with extended family.

John was the beloved husband of 59 years of Elfriede (nee Kaltenstein) Franz and the loving father of Christopher J. Franz, Pastor.

Relatives and friends are invited to his visitation from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM, Tuesday, May 9, 2023, at Advent Lutheran Church, 1601 Green Lane, West Chester, PA 19382, followed by Communion at 7:30 PM. Interment will be private.
