John Falls, Sr.

John W. “Moose” Falls, Sr., age 74, of Upper Darby, PA, passed away suddenly on January 2, 2022.  Born in Upper Darby, PA, he was the son of the late James John Falls, Sr. and Wilhelmina Falls (nee Wenger).

John was a proud and dedicated public servant for Upper Darby Township for most of his life. He had been employed as a Police Officer with the Upper Darby Police Department.  He was also an active member of the Upper Darby Fire Department Station 37 for 58 years, where he served as a Past Fire Chief, President and a Board of Directors member.  After retirement from the Police Department, he drove a school bus for the Upper Darby School District.

John was one of kind, a true gentleman.  A wonderful and caring Dad and Pop-Pop. Enjoyed the company of his friends. John had a life long love of the Jersey shore (especially Wildwood).

John was predeceased by his beloved wife, Eileen Falls (nee Weiman) and his son, John W. Falls, Jr.   He is survived by his loving children Michael Falls and Christine Falls-Hopkins (David).  Also survived by his dear grandchildren Aiden and Liam Falls and Caitlin, Emma and Erin Hopkins.  Brother of James, Margaret “Peggy”, Barbara, Mary, and Kathy. Also survived by his daughter-in-law Katie Falls (nee Shaw).

Relatives, friends and members of the Upper Darby Police Department and the Upper Darby Fire Department are invited to visit the family on Thursday, January 6, 2022 6:00-9:00 PM and Friday, January 7, 2022 9:30-10:30 AM at The Donohue Funeral Home, 8401 West Chester Pike (cor. Lynn Blvd.), Upper Darby, PA (610) 449-0300 and to his Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM at St. Laurence Lower Church, 8245 West Chester Pike, Upper Darby, PA.  Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in John’s memory to the Upper Darby Fire Department Station 37, 7241 West Chester Pike, Upper Darby, PA 19082 would be appreciated.
