John Devlin

July 29, 1948 — May 4, 2019

John J. Devlin, age 70, of Upper Darby, PA, passed away on May 4, 2019. Born in Philadelphia, PA, he was the beloved son of Mary T. (nee Joyce) and the late John J. Devlin, Sr.

John was an Eagles season ticket holder for almost 40 years. He was a volunteer at St. Cyril's Carnival and Bingo for many years and was also a Eucharistic minister. He enjoyed collecting Christmas ornaments and Coca-Cola memorabilia. In his free time, John loved watching The Fugitive, Leave It to Beaver, Johnny Carson, and David Letterman. He also enjoyed traveling to Wildwood Crest, NJ, and going to amusement parks. He liked making homemade iced tea and eating Herr's potato chips.

John was the loving husband of Dianne C. (nee Chase) Devlin; caring father of Jennifer L. Devlin and Geoffrey T. Devlin (Mary Kate); adoring grandfather of Cayden J. Devlin; devoted brother of Joseph J. Devlin; and fun-loving uncle to many nieces and nephews.

John was the brother of the late Mary (nee Devlin) Hicks.



Relatives and friends are invited to his Visitation Monday, May 13, 2019 7:00-9:00 PM and Tuesday, May 14, 2019 9:00-9:45 AM at The Donohue Funeral Home, 8401 West Chester Pike, PA 19082 (610) 449-0300, followed by his Funeral Mass 10:30 AM at St. Philomena Roman Catholic Church, 41 E. Baltimore Avenue, Lansdowne, PA 19050. Interment SS Peter & Paul Cemetery, Springfield, PA.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory are requested to the Philadelphia VA Medical Center, Attn: Voluntary Services, 3900 Woodland Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19104
