John Francis Crussard

John Francis “Jack” Crussard, a devoted family man, respected Army veteran of the Vietnam War, and cherished member of his community, passed away peacefully on March 19, 2026. Born on January 27, 1947, John lived a life marked by commitment to his country, his loved ones, and causes close to his heart.

Jack’s presence will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Marie (Nee Olivieri) Crussard, who stood by his side through the years with unwavering support and affection. Together, they nurtured a family grounded in love and shared values. He is survived by his children, William Crussard and his wife Lori, and Leon Crussard and his wife Maria, both of whom carry forward his legacy of strength and kindness. John's joy in life was amplified by his grandchildren—Madeline, Kaylee, Anthony, and Ava—with whom he cherished spending treasured time, creating memories that will be held dear by all. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

His military service remains a cornerstone of his identity. John served honorably in the United States Army, Delta Co - 1BN 8 CAV - First Air Cavalry, Air-mobile and was an active participant in The Philadelphia Vietnam Veteran’s Memorial Society, VFW Post 928, Folsom, PA. A graduate of Father Judge High School, class of 1965. His dedication extended beyond his own service; he enthusiastically supported activities that honored and assisted our troops and veterans, exemplifying his enduring patriotism and commitment to his fellow servicemen and women.

Jack was preceded in death by his beloved parents, William and Juliet (Nee Roels) Crussard, who instilled in him the values that guided his life. He also mourns the loss of his siblings, Robert Crussard and Dorothy Hawryliw (sur. Adrian).

Relatives and friends are invited to Jack’s viewing on Friday, March 27, 2026, at 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM at Notre Dame de Lourdes Church, located at 990 Fairview Rd, Swarthmore, PA 19081. The viewing will be followed by a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. at the same location. Interment at Arlington Cemetery, Drexel Hill, PA.
