Joanne M. Bramley

Joanne M. Bramley, (née Peterman), age 82, of Havertown, PA, passed away on August 23, 2022, peacefully at home surrounded by her family and devoted husband.

Born in Philadelphia, PA, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Mary (née Gallagher) Peterman.

Joanne was the beloved wife of John “Jack” H. Bramley; the loving mother of Terese M. Salcedo (Mario), John C. Bramley (Susan), Susan J. Mullen (Leo), Charles J. Bramley (Michele), Jennifer A. Kirkland (John), and Amy M. Wroblewski (Matthew).  She was the devoted grandmother of 19 and the dear sister of Mary “Terri” Narkin (Thomas). Joanne is also survived by her sister-in-law, Penny Peterman, nieces, nephews, and cousins.  She is predeceased by her brother, James C. Peterman. 

Joanne had a very strong faith and lived out her faith daily devoted to Mary, mother of Jesus and St. Joseph.  She was a Mercy Associate with the Sisters of Mercy and volunteered for charities through the Sisters of Mercy as well as through her parish, Our Mother of Good Counsel.  Joanne met and fell in love with her husband, Jack of 62 years at the age of 15.  Their love and devotion to one another was an example to all who knew them.  She was the proud mother of 6 and grandmother to 19.  She loved nothing more than to brag on them to whomever would listen.   Joanne was employed as an administrative assistant in the Psychology Department at Swarthmore College for 25 years.  She loved trips to Lancaster County, vacationing in Vermont and enjoyed quilting, sewing, and gardening. She was an avid reader and had a lifelong pursuit of learning. 

Relatives and friends are invited to her Viewing, 3:00 – 5:00 PM Sunday, at The Donohue Funeral Home, 8401 West Chester Pike, Upper Darby, PA  19082, and   9:00 – 10:30 AM, Monday, at Our Mother of Good Counsel Church, 31 Pennswood Road, Bryn Mawr, PA  19010, followed by her Funeral Mass, 10:30 AM.  Interment private.
