Joanne Michelle Balkow

Joanne Michelle Balkow (née Hudson), of Newtown Square, PA, sadly passed away on April 22, 2026, at the age of 55.

Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Joseph E. and Anna Mae (née Piacine) Hudson.

Joanne’s personal interests were varied and vibrant. She was an avid fan of Philadelphia sports, sharing in the excitement and camaraderie that the games inspired. Her passion extended beyond sports into the culinary arts, where she enjoyed baking and watching cooking shows, activities that brought joy both in practice and in sharing her creations. Over the past few years, Joanne had developed an interest in a variety of online writers, forging close relationships with a like-minded community of fans who became good friends. This gave her immense joy. Her love for animals was profound, underscoring a compassionate nature that touched many lives.

Joanne is survived by her loving brother, Daniel Hudson (Colleen), her dear niece, Olivia, her many loving cousins, and caring friends.

A Visitation honoring Joanne will take place on Wednesday, April 29, 2026, from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at Donohue Funeral Home, 3300 West Chester Pike, Newtown Square, PA. A Funeral Mass will follow commencing at 10:30 AM at St. Anastasia Church, 3301 West Chester Pike, Newtown Square, PA. Interment thereafter at SS. Peter and Paul Cemetery, Springfield, PA.
