Joan Theresa Devlin

Joan Theresa Devlin, 68 of West Chester, PA died on April 14, 2024.

She was born on February 28, 1956, in the Logan neighborhood of Philadelphia, PA to the late John Gerard Devlin and Catherine Theresa Kelly Devlin.

She graduated from Holy Child Parish Grade School in 1970 and Archbishop Ryan High School in 1974. She obtained a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Widener University in 1978, a Certificate of Art from the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts in 1989, and a Master of Science in Educational Leadership from Wilkes University in 2011. 

As a long-time resident of Philadelphia and Chester County, she led a rewarding nursing career with the University of Pennsylvania Health System, Crozer Chester Medical Center, Germantown Hospital and Medical Center, and the West Chester Area School District. She was deeply passionate about education, travel, art, and community engagement. She will be fondly remembered by many for her extraordinary compassion, creativity, sense of humor, and intellect. 

Joan is survived by her daughters Gabrielle (Eric) of Collingswood, NJ, and Nicole of West Chester, PA. She is also survived by her sister, Constance Devlin of Thorndale, PA, brothers, Daniel Devlin (Linda) of Manchester, CT, and John Devlin (Patricia) of Exton, PA, as well as several nieces and nephews. 

Relatives and friends are invited to her Visitation on Saturday, April 27, 2024, 10:00 – 11:00 AM at Saints Phillip and James Parish, 723 East Lincoln Highway, Exton, PA 19341, followed by her Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM.  Post Mass Reception and Interment to be private.
