Jessica “Jess” Schrader, age 27, of Media, PA, passed away on May 21, 2022.
Born in Philadelphia, PA, she was the daughter of Kenneth Schrader and Susan (née O’Brien) Schrader.
Jess was a girly girl - she loved pink, makeup, big eyelashes, chokers, and statement sunglasses. She had a distinct sense of style and fashion and loved to look good. Her favorite things included tarot, glitter, and the xD emoticon. She was an artist who created imaginative, colorful drawings. She adored animals and in particular, her cockapoo, Shelby.
She loved going to the shore: building sandcastles, jumping in the waves, hitting the boardwalk, and making mischief in the greater tri-county area with her crew of cousins.
Jess was a huge music fan and loved rock and roll — the Beatles, the Grateful Dead, Pink Floyd — and going to concerts. She wished she had been born in time to have gone to Woodstock.
She had a great sense of humor, cracking jokes and laughing loudly — even when the subject was dark. She was fun, a good friend, and intensely loyal. She had hundreds, if not thousands of friends and family that poured love into her.
Despite her short time here, Jessica experienced profound loss. She loved and lost a daughter, Juliette, in January 2019. The loss of Juliette made Anthony James’ arrival in September 2020 that much more precious; she loved her baby boy fiercely. He was her sun and stars, her greatest creation. She turned her pain into empathy for others, easing their suffering with her intimate understanding of their pain.
Jessica was deeply loved — as a mother, daughter, granddaughter, sister, niece, cousin, aunt, and friend. She was intelligent, beautiful, and had a big-heart. Jess wouldn’t let you tell her anything and we loved her for it. She was clever, kind, hilarious, and she was ours, attitude and all.
Jess is survived by her beloved son, Anthony James Schrader Cooney and his father, Brandon Cooney; her parents, Kenneth Schrader (Carol) and Susan Schrader (Lou Magazzu), as well as her many cousins and friends. She is predeceased by her loving baby daughter, Juliette Schrader Leahy.
