Jennifer Betkowski

Jennifer Ann Betkowski, 40, of Exton, PA passed away October 2, 2018.

Born November 1, 1977 in Bayonne, NJ, she was a beloved daughter of John Richard and Martha Ann (nee Morris) Betkowski.

Jennifer Betkowski, PhD was a psychologist in the Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia.

Jen loved to learn and was truly gifted in helping children and adolescents to be successful at home, in school, and in the community.

She received her undergraduate degree in psychology from Towson University. She earned her Masters and Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the University of Maryland Baltimore County. Her research focused on promoting young children's self-regulation and school readiness. She completed her psychology internship with a specialty in school mental health at the VA Maryland Health Care System/University of Maryland Psychology Internship Consortium. Jen was selected for and completed a highly prestigious postdoctoral fellowship with the Arizona State University Prevention Research Center. She then chose to enhance her family therapy skills by completing a Child and Family postdoctoral fellowship at Kennedy Krieger Institute and the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine.

Jen loved spending time with her family and friends.

She was a dedicated daughter, sister, aunt, and friend and will always be remembered for her beautiful smile and kind heart.

The beach was her favorite place.

She loved vacations to the Outer Banks of North Carolina, seahorses, sand dollars, sunsets, and walks on the beach.

She had a beautiful voice and enjoyed music and singing.

Jen also adored animals, especially her three beagles, Bluebell, Sissy, and Grayton.



In addition to her parents, she is survived by her loving sister, Melissa A. Walters and brother-in-law James Walters; adoring nephews and nieces: Riley, Cooper, and Peyton Walters, and Kirsten Joerg; and dear grandmother, Mary Betkowski. She was predeceased by her sister, Kimberly Butler and dear grandfather, John Victor Betkowski.

Jen is also survived and loved by many other relatives and friends.



Relatives and friends are invited to her visitation Tuesday, October 16, 2018 9:30 - 10:30 AM at St Francis De Sales Roman Catholic Church; 1450 Abingdon Road, Abingdon, Maryland 21009, followed by her Memorial Mass at 10:30 AM.
