Jean C. Mapa

Jean C. Mapa (nee Bartle), age 85, of West Chester, PA passed away on February 16, 2024.

Born in Coaldale, PA in 1938, she was the daughter of the late Chester E. and Mary (nee Mundy) Bartle. Jean graduated from St. Agnes Nursing School in Philadelphia and worked as a Registered Nurse. She was very proud of her Irish heritage and traveled to Ireland several times with friends and family. Her wit and sense of humor always brought a smile to the people around her. Jean was a devoted parishioner and avid church goer at SS Simon & Jude Church. She served as a greeter and was a participant in the daily rosary prayers.

Jean was the beloved wife of the late Stephen J. Mapa, Sr.; loving mother of Stephen J. Mapa, Jr. (Patty); caring Nana of Christina Thayer (Jake), Alexandra McVaugh (Austin), and Connor Mapa; predeceased by her twin sister, Anne Bartle, and her brother, Chet Bartle.

Relatives and friends are invited to her Visitation 10:00-11:00 AM Tuesday, February 20, 2024 at SS Simon & Jude Church, 8 Cavanaugh Court, West Chester, PA 19382, followed by her Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM. Interment SS Peter & Paul Cemetery.
