A beloved son, brother, cousin, and dear friend, Jean-Francois Shahade, passed from this life unexpectedly on May 4, 2020 at the age of 27.
Jean-Francois was born October 1, 1992, in Philadelphia, PA, where he also lived and died. Jean-Francois possessed a delightful French flair for life, passed on to him by his mother, Lysiane Wehrle, who cherished him deeply. Jean-Francois was keenly intelligent, socially and otherwise; he was regarded with pride and loved by his father, Michael Shahade, to whom Francois was strongly bonded. Jean-Francois was also beloved by the Hormann household. He spent much of his childhood with Bob & Susana, sisters Noemi, Rut, and Rebecca, and later, sisters Marcela, Karen, Chirley, and Maria. Jean-Francois was first home-schooled by Susana and then attended high school at Phil-Mont Christian Academy. Francois was known for his friendship, his sense of humor, and his contributions to school theatre.
During this period, Jean-Francois came to understand the profound love of Christ, and established faith in his Savior. At another level, Francois also established a connection to Latin America, making Christian service, educational, and family visits to Honduras, Mexico, and Chile where he affectionately became known as Juan-Pancho.
After high school, Jean-Francois worked both in the legal service and hospitality industries, where his skills were greatly regarded. With everyone, Jean-Francois shared the light of life, as he sought The Light of Life (John 8:12). Our dear Jean-Francois will be sorely missed.
He is survived by his father, Michael Shahade, his mother, Lysiane Wehrle, his sister, Jennifer Shahade, his brother Gregory Shahade, and his brother Gregory Grutman.
Due to the Covid-19 Pandemic, services and interment are private.
