Jason Michael “Jay” Hoose, of Havertown, PA, sadly passed away on February 23, 2026, at the age of 48.
Born in Lansdale, PA, he was the son of the Roberta (née Goff) Hoose and the late Richard Hoose.
A master automotive painter by trade, Jay made significant contributions to the auto body business, earning the respect of colleagues and clients alike.
Known for his ability to lighten any situation with a joke, Jay's personality left a lasting impression on all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Jay was an avid sports fan who passionately supported the Philadelphia Eagles and Flyers, sharing his enthusiasm for their games with family and friends. His love for life extended to the natural beauty of Cape May, NJ, and the serene Pocono Mountains, where he cherished countless memories with his family. He also shared a special bond with his beloved dogs, who were a significant part of his life.
Jay was exceptionally proud of his children and took immense joy in his role as a grandfather to his two grandsons. His family was at the center of his world, and they, along with his friends, admired him for his remarkable courage as they witnessed his determined spirit as he fought bravely right to the end.
Jay was the beloved husband of Christie Lynn (née Byrne) Hoose; the loving father of Kaila Ann Dougherty (2nd Lt. Tyler), Emilia Nepi (David Filano), and Aidan Hoose. He was the devoted grandfather of Beau Dougherty and Cillian Dougherty.
Jay is also survived by his many loving friends and colleagues.
Friends and family are invited to pay their respects during a Visitation on Wednesday, March 4, 2026, from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM, at The Donohue Funeral Home, 3300 West Chester Pike, Newtown Square, PA 19073, followed by a Funeral Service commencing at 11:00 AM. Interment will be held privately.
