Janet M. DeLuca, née Griffitts, of Drexel Hill, PA, a beloved family figure and cherished mother and grandmother, passed away peacefully on July 6, 2025, at the age of 76.
Born in Philadelphia, PA, she was the daughter of the late Beal and Josephine (née Mummo) Griffitts.
Janet dedicated many years of her life to a career as a legal clerk for the Pennsylvania Superior Court and was most proud of her contribution to the construction of the Blue Route in her role as Office Manager with Urban Engineers. She is remembered for “livening up” any office in which she worked.
Janet had an infectious personality, marked by a quick wit and a great sense of humor. She was known for her easy laughter and loved to make everyone (even strangers) laugh, brightening the days of those around her.
Family was at the heart of Janet's life. She found great joy in her role as a mother and grandmother, cherishing the time spent with her grandchildren as some of her most treasured moments. Janet also had a deep affection for her pets, which brought her immense companionship and happiness. She had a love for the Jersey Shore and was never against a quick trip to Atlantic City.
Her final sentiments to her family were written in a letter ending, “I truly have been blessed and loved by you.”
Janet was the loving mother of Gina DeFlavia (Michael), Sam DeLuca (Tina), and Anthony DeLuca (Nicole). She was the devoted grandmother to Daniel, Kathryn, Kelly, Julia, Salvatore, Cecilia, Adrianna, and Nicholas. Janet is survived by her brother, Edward Griffitts, as well as her loving nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her siblings, William Griffitts and Angela Griffitts.
