Jane Russell

Jane Evans Russell, age 92, of Newtown Square, PA, passed away on October 27, 2021.

Born in Orange, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Samuel Sebastian Evans, Jr. and Ella Mary (nee Behrer) Evans.

Jane was a graduate of Lower Merion High School, Colby College and Cornell University School of Nursing. She was a Registered Nurse and homemaker.  Jane  was always an avid reader traveling the world and the ages through her love of books.

Jane was the beloved wife of the late Gordon A. Russell; the loving sister-in-law of Janet Russell Hitt (the late William C. Hitt, Jr.); and the devoted aunt of William C. Hitt, III (Nancy Sachs) and David M. Hitt. She is predeceased by her brother, Samuel Sebastian Evans, III.

Jane was a long time resident with her dear friend and companion, Jimmy Allen, at Dunwoody Village where she enjoyed many happy years in her last chapter of life.

Relatives and friends are invited to her Funeral Service, Wednesday, November 10, 2021, at 1:00 PM at The Donohue Funeral Home, 3300 West Chester Pike, Newtown Square, PA  19073, 610-353-6300.  Interment to be held privately.

In lieu of flowers, contributions to Dunwoody Employee Appreciation, 3500 West Chester Pike, Newtown Square, PA  19073, with “In memory of Jane Russell” in memo section of check, would be appreciated.
