James J. Walsh, age 85 of Havertown, passed away, peacefully, on December 2, 2021.
James was the beloved husband of Lorraine (née Zubris); loving father of Michelle Kubasko (Jim) and James (Shannon). He will be missed by his grandchildren, Katie, Ryan & Annalise Kubasko and Reilly & Cavan Walsh.
James served in the US Army and was a proud graduate of West Catholic High School. He played football while in high school, was a lifeguard and continued his love for sports throughout his life especially Philly teams and Penn State. He was a member of the Notre Dame Club of Philadelphia and enjoyed skiing, traveling and spending time with his family in Ocean City, NJ. He loved listening to Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennet and watching his grandchildren’s activities.
A Philadelphia man, he owned Walsh’s Tavern in University City and also University City Beverage on Walnut Street in Philadelphia. He was a loyal fan of the St. Patrick’s Day Parade and all of its festivities.
Relatives and friends are invited to his Visitation 9:30-11:00 AM Friday, December 17, 2021 at Annunciation BVM Church, 401 Brookline Blvd, Havertown, PA followed by his Funeral Mass 11:00 AM. Interment private.
