James Michael Myers

James Michael Myers, age 34, of Chester Springs, Pennsylvania, died from brain cancer on September 17, 2026. He was the beloved middle son of Michael F. and Jeanne M. (née Spear) Myers. Jim is survived by his brother, John F. Myers (Melissa), and his three nephews, Xavier Michael, John Robert, and Arlington James. He was predeceased by his brother, Joseph, in 2024. Jim was the beloved nephew of Francis X. Myers III (Judy), Lisa Myers Thomson (Frank), Edward T. Myers (Sandy), the late Dennis M. Myers (Amy), the late Mary E. Myers McCloy, Gregory T. Spear (Martha), Bryan J. Spear, and Rebecca Sheeley (Andy). He is also survived by many cousins, aunts, uncles and friends who will miss him dearly.

A 2010 graduate of Downingtown High School East, Jim went on to earn both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Temple University.

Jim began his professional career in financial services with Northern Trust in Chicago. He loved living in the city where he was born and exploring all that Chicago had to offer. He later returned home to pursue a career in education with the hope of making a meaningful difference in the lives of students.

Jim returned to Temple University where he earned dual certification in Business, Computers and Information Technology and Technology Education. At graduation, Temple University recognized Jim for his enduring spirit, which so fully embodied the university’s official motto, Perseverantia Vincit, meaning “Perseverance Conquers.”

Jim later launched a new career with Caliber Services as Senior Manager of Systems and Strategy. Shrewdly analytical and highly adept at problem-solving, Jim quickly distinguished himself through his intelligence, talents, and leadership abilities. Throughout his life, Jim faced tremendous adversity, yet he met each challenge with extraordinary bravery, grace and kindness. Even during the most difficult times, he remained determined to move forward, never allowing his circumstances to diminish his generosity toward others or his ability to find humor and meaning in life. His perseverance was a defining characteristic of the way he lived. Jim loved sports, especially hockey, golf, and baseball and later developed a love for skiing. He also enjoyed a wonderful circle of friends whose friendship meant so much to him throughout his life. Jim will be deeply missed by his family, friends, colleagues and all those fortunate enough to have known him. He will be remembered for his spirit, tenacity, generosity, kindness and humor. He is greatly missed already by his beloved Vizslas, Max and Otto.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jim’s memory to First Descents. Jim had the opportunity to participate in several trips through this wonderful organization, which provides meaningful support and adventure experiences for people impacted by cancer.

Services will be held on Saturday, October 24, 2026 at 10:00am in the chapel at St. Elizabeth’s Roman Catholic Church in Chester Springs followed by a funeral Mass at 11:00am.
