James McGinnis, Jr.

James A. “Jim” McGinnis, Jr., age 74, of Springfield, PA, passed away peacefully on August 29, 2020, surrounded by his family.

Born in Philadelphia, PA, he was the son of the late James A., Sr. and Margaret (nee Keenan) McGinnis.

Jim served his country honorably in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.  He was a recipient of the Purple Heart and the Bronze Star Medals.

Jim was the beloved husband of Dorothy (nee Carreon) McGinnis; the loving father of Bernadette Salla, Mary McGinnis , Patricia Gaynor, and Stephanie McGinnis; the devoted grandfather of Stephanie, James, Natalie, Gabriella, Gianna, Alexander, Allison, Erin and Cassie.  He is  also survived by his siblings, Michael McGinnis, Kathleen Maphis, Roseanne Perry and Peggy Petrongolo, as well we many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to his Visitation, Tuesday, September 8, 2020 at 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM at The Donohue Funeral Home, 3300 West Chester Pike, Newtown Square, PA  19073, 610-353-6300, followed by his Prayer Service at 12:30 PM.  Interment SS. Peter & Paul Cemetery, Springfield, PA.

Facial masks will be required for Visitation, Prayer Service, and Interment and social distancing will be observed.
