James "Jim" A. Kendrick

Jim Kendrick, 78, of Holmes, PA died February 10th, 2023 at the Residences at Chestnut Ridge in Wallingford, PA.

Jim was born in Wilmington, DE but lived in Delaware County most of his life. He graduated from Alexis I. DuPont High School and Mount St. Mary’s University.

At the height of the Vietnam War, Jim served honorably in the 101st Airborne Division of the U.S. Army as a helicopter crew chief and door gunner. He spent the majority of his working years at IBM Corporation at first in the office and later as a customer engineer/field repair person.

Jim was a car enthusiast and backyard mechanic through his adult life. He owned several vehicles from the 1930’s and 1940’s , but was most proud of his 1969 Chevelle convertible which he purchased while serving in Vietnam and maintained pristinely for 50+ years. Before dementia robbed him of his personality, Jim was a gregarious guy, loved a pleasant conversation and was a true friend to many.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents James E. and Emma K. (Iannotti); and his brother, Gerald L. Kendrick.

Those who carry on his legacy are: his daughter, Nora Hodge, and her husband, Geoffrey, of Fort Mill, SC; a son, Raymond and his wife Jessica of West Chester, PA; and his wife of 49 years Aniele Pandza Kendrick. His 4 grandchildren also mourn his passing: Ben, Nathan and Victoria Hodge, and Kaizer Kendrick.

The family is planning a memorial for Jim at a future date. Please make any memorial donations to All Riders Up, 265 Mattson Rd. Garnet Valley, PA 19060.
