James F. O'Brien, Jr., age 79, of Boothwyn, PA, passed away on June 28, 2017. Born in Philadelphia, PA, he was the son of the late James F. O'Brien, Sr. and Mary O'Brien (nee Almeida).
James was employed as a bartender at the Springfield Inn, formerly known as Ricchetti's. He retired in 1999.
In addition to his parents, James was predeceased by his sister, Mary O'Brien. He is survived by his beloved wife, Gerri O'Brien (nee Fiore), his loving children James O'Brien, Eileen Gillin, Michael O'Brien (Joanne), Karen Gibson (Bob), Paul Malatesta and Daniel O'Brien, 17 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, and his sister, Connie Lockery (Dan).
Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing Saturday, July 1, 2017 9:30-10:30 AM St. John Fisher Church, 4225 Chichester Avenue, Boothwyn, PA and to his Funeral Mass at 10:30 AM. Interment SS Peter and Paul Cemetery, Springfield, PA.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory to Penn Medicine, 3535 Market Street, Suite 750, Philadelphia, PA 19104 would be appreciated.
