Irene T. Stanford

Irene Stanford, 95, of Downingtown, PA, passed away September 12, 2024. 

Born May 2, 1929 in Philadelphia, PA, she was a daughter of the late Aldemaro and Josephine (nee Feden) Chiodi.

Irene worked at Acme Market for 25 years, retiring in 1991. 

She loved to bake, attend bible studies, and knit and sew. She was an opera aficionado, an avid Eagles fan, and delved deeply in to history. She loved her family in Italy and traveling to Europe. Above all she adored spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. 

Irene was the beloved wife of the late Francis Stanford; loving mother of Eleanor Stanford, Michael Stanford (Barbara), and Robert Stanford (Peg); adoring grandmother of Paul Stanford (Kimberly), Theresa Odgers (Tim), Daniel Stanford (Amanda). Beth Ann Haines (Gregory), and Lisa Stanford; and proud great-grandmother of Logan, McKenna, Landen, Nolan, Charlie, Jacob, Sayde, Ryan, and Kate. She was predeceased by her sister, Alberta Connelly. Irene will be dearly missed by her dogs: Tara and Gidget.
