Inga Schostak

We rejoice in the knowledge that Inga Margarethe (Hermes) Schostak is home with her late husband Günther Schostak.
Inga, 88, previously of Center Valley, PA died September 3, 2018.
Born in Leer, Germany, she was the daughter of the late Otto and Elsbeth (Gieske) Hermes.
She was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church of Allentown for over 50 years, where she and Günther were two of the earliest parishioners.
While at Calvary Baptist, she looked to strengthen her faith and build solid relationships with family and friends.
Inga was a proud stay-at-home mom. After God and family, she committed herself to volunteering at The Wiley House, Meals on Wheels, the Lehigh Valley Hospital Gift Shop and spearheading their annual fund raiser, May Daze.
While growing up, many of her friends had boats so at the age of 17, Inga bought her first sail boat and learned to sail near her home in northeast Germany.
She loved the sea and was drawn toward the ocean all her life.
Inga also enjoyed playing bridge with several groups of ladies. The friendships born of these groups became lifelong and transcendent. Other hobbies included reading, traveling, and breeding and showing boxer dogs.
She particularly loved spending time with her grandchildren, whether in the backyard, at the playground or at the beach, and she was immensely proud of each of them.
Inga is survived by her son Glen Schostak and wife Ellen; daughter Patti Juntwait and husband Eric; son Owen Schostak and wife Elizabeth; her grandchildren Ryan, Colin, Hilary, Kelsey, Mark and Anna; sister Heidi Lindemann; sister Ebba Meinecke and husband Horst; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her sister and brother-in-law Ellen and Friedrich Wilhelm Rose and her brother-in-law Helmut Lindemann.
Relatives and friends are invited to her Visitation 10:00-11:00 AM Friday, September 28, 2018 at Calvary Baptist Church, 4601 Tilghman St., Allentown, PA followed by her Funeral Service 11:00 AM.
