Ian Patrick Baker

Ian Patrick Baker, of Newtown Square, PA, a beloved member of his community, passed away unexpectedly on July 17, 2025 at the age of 37.

Born in Upland, PA, he was the son of Richard B. and Tracy (née Dougherty) Baker.

Ian was a proud graduate of Marple Newtown High School, Class of 2006, and achieved further academic success by earning a degree in Music Performance from Immaculata University in 2011. He was a dedicated IT Technician employed with the Marple Newtown School District at Culbertson Elementary School, where he was known for his commitment to supporting both the staff and students in navigating the complexities of technology.

Beyond his career, Ian had a zest for life. He enjoyed gaming and watching sports. An accomplished drummer, Ian relished the joy that music brought into his life, as both a performer and a listener of all genres of music. Ian’s culinary skills also brought people together, as he delighted in cooking and sharing meals with those he loved. He was a person who valued the connections he made with others and loved spending time with friends and family.

Ian is survived by his beloved parents, Richard and Tracy Baker; his loving sisters, Megan Brosious of Bloomsburg, PA and Monica Baker of Newtown Square, PA, as well as his dear nieces, Amanda Brosious and Lauren Brosious. He is also survived by his countless fellow coworkers at the Marple Newtown School District and his many friends.

A Visitation in honor of Ian will take place on Wednesday, July 23, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at The Donohue Funeral Home, 3300 West Chester Pike, Newtown Square, PA, 19073. A Funeral Service will follow commencing at 12:00 PM. Interment will be private.

Ian will be profoundly missed by all who knew him, and his legacy of kindness, creativity, and love will continue to resonate through the hearts of those he touched.
