Hilbert S. Felton

 Hilbert S. Felton, Jr, age 98, went to be with the Lord on April 1, 2026.

Born in 1927 in Philadelphia, he survived his parents, Hilbert Sr and Edith (nee Newhall) Felton; his sisters, Ethel Mould and Louise Scarborough; his wife Shirlie (nee Wetzel) and their daughter, Debra.

Hilbert served in the Navy in WW II. A piano technician his entire working life, he tuned, repaired, and rebuilt pianos. He also trained and evaluated new technicians, and was an officer in the Piano Technicians Guild. He worked for years tuning pianos for the Mike Douglas Show in Philadelphia.

He was a proud 75 year member and Past Master of St. John’s Lodge #115 Mason Lodge in Philadelphia. He was also an officer in many Building and Loan Associations in Philadelphia.

After retirement, while living in Mountain Top, PA, he volunteered for the American Red Cross, working at blood drives; helping local residents following personal crises like house fires; and traveling across the country helping at natural disasters like floods and hurricanes.

He later moved to Villas, NJ, where his family has had a home since 1931. Bicycling around Villas was a joy of his since childhood. He continued riding his bike daily until age 90. Besides cycling, he loved building furniture, reading, and playing cards.

His final years were spent at Granite Farms Estates, a retirement community in Media, PA. He enjoyed playing pool, Wii bowling, and shuffleboard with his new friends. He won gold medals for pool at the ACTS Communities Senior Olympics.

Hilbert will be missed by his many nieces, nephews, friends, and caregivers at Granite Farms Estates.

Family and friends are invited to honor Hilbert’s life at a visitation on Saturday, April 11, 2026 at The Donohue Funeral Home, 3300 West Chester Pike, Newtown Square, PA from 10:00 AM to 10:45 AM. A Masonic Service will commence at 10:45 AM, followed by a Memorial Service at 11:00 AM.

Interment at St. Thomas Cemetery (830 Covered Bridge Road, Mount Pleasant Mills, PA), will take place at a later date. Please check back for updates.
