Herman Schaffer, 93, died on Dec. 13, 2021, in Ardmore, Pennsylvania.
Herman was born on August 28, 1928, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
He was preceded in his passing by David, his father, Fannie, his mother and Beatrice, his sister.
He is survived by his wife Sonia and his two sons, Michael and Ronald, his daughters-in-law, Lisa and Michelle, his four grandchildren, David, Jacob, Camila and Oscar and his nephew, Gary.
Herman was a devoted husband and father. He was married to the love of his life, Sonia, for 53 years. He took a special pride in his two sons, supporting them in every way that he could. In addition, he loved to spend time with his four grandchildren: spoiling them was a treat.
Herman worked for the United Stated Postal Service for 35 years and he served in the United States Army.
He enjoyed travel and experiencing other cultures. Aside from his travel, his favorite hobby was researching/discussing anything related to business and finance. He also loved reading, walking and watching sports—boxing and baseball were his favorites (go Phillies).
Most of all, Herman will be remembered for his humanity: his sense of humor, his compassion for others and the kindness of his heart. He will never be forgotten by the people that loved him.
“Forever in our hearts…now in the arms of angels.”
