Herbert S. "Herb" Wilkie

Herbert S. “Herb” Wilkie, age 62, of Radnor, PA, passed away suddenly from an unexpected heart attack on August 8, 2023. Born in Letterkenny County Donegal, Ireland, he was the son of the late Jack and Violet (nee Love) Wilkie.

Family was first and foremost to Herb, he especially adored his grandchildren. Herb was extremely driven and was a hard worker, he built his home for him and Hilary plus both his daughter’s homes. He enjoyed boating, rally racing in Ireland, and driving. Herb taught his kids how to drive a car and a boat. He was always very resourceful and was able to get creative to make things work! Herb was a lover of all animals, especially cats, and was known to feed foxes, squirrels, and other wild animals that ventured onto their deck. He even brought home an abandoned baby goose once. Herb often visited Buttonwood Beach, MD, Long Point Marina, MD, and Lancaster, PA, but he loved spending time at home with his family. Some of his favorite things included Marmalade and cheese toast, Irish brand Lyon’s Tea, chocolate covered pretzels, rum and coke, and his dock shoes and slippers.

Herb was the beloved husband of Hilary (nee Steele) Wilkie; loving father of Heather Wilkie Brierley (Keith) and Lisa Wilkie Baker (Mark); and adoring grandfather of Penelope, Paige, and Henry.

All are welcome to join the family for A Celebration of Herb’s Life 2:00 PM on Sunday, September, 24, 2023 at The Presbyterian Church of Llanerch, 211 Lansdowne Rd., Havertown, PA 19083.
