Helen Marie Concannon (nee Deane), of Delaware County, Pennsylvania passed away peacefully on July 21st, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Born on August 24th, 1935, in Philadelphia, Helen was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother and known affectionately by many as “Nan” or “Mrs. C”.
Helen graduated in 1953 from West Catholic Girls’ High School in Philadelphia and shortly thereafter met Mark, her beloved husband. They married in 1955 and began a family which was the center of her life. Helen was an active alumnus of West Catholic organizing many fundraising events like fashion shows and communion breakfasts over the decades. In 2024, she was honored with the Margaret Porter Blue & Gold Award to recognize her exemplary Catholic values and beliefs and significant contributions to her alma mater.
Helen’s priorities were always in order with her unwavering faith in God, devotion to the Blessed Mother and spending time with her large and ever-growing family. Her favorite color was green as she was so proud of her Irish heritage. St. Patrick’s Day was a day she looked forward to all year. Helen volunteered much of her time to St. Laurence Parish in Upper Darby and driving aging sisters to their appointments. Babysitting her many grandchildren and hosting Sunday family roast beef dinners in their home also took much of her time.
Helen is survived by her six children Mark (Gail), Kevin (Pattiann), Pat (Jeannie), Michael (Barbara), Jack (Anne) and Maureen (Steven), her twenty eight grandchildren, Katie (Brian), Kevin (Laura), Kristen (Greg), Colleen (Jason), Laura (John), Kimberly (Harry), Teddy (Anna), Mark (Michele), Michael, Christina (Frankie), Mary Kate (Jon), Brian (Molly), Kelly (Steve), Patrick (Cayley), Lindsay, Caroline (Scott), Megan (Conor), Tommy, Steven, (Jenna), John (Kasie), Charlie (Ellie), Rebecca, Abigail (David), Matthew (Danielle), Michael (Madison), Ryan (Lindsay), Jessica and James as well as her 45 great grandchildren with 3 on the way.
