Harriett Fowler Moberly stepped into the presence of Jesus Christ, her savior, on September 30, 2018.
Harriett was born in Raymond, MS on October 27, 1943 to Hubert and Annie Fowler (nee Rivers) who predeceased her. She is survived by her husband Richard (Rick) Moberly of forty-four years; two brothers, Hubert James Fowler (Anna) and Hubert H. Fowler, Jr. (Hannah); two sons, John Moberly (Kaye) and Andrew Moberly (Karen); 6 grandchildren, Ethan, Benjamin, Emilie, Rebecca, Joshua, and Elliana Moberly; and numerous cousins.
Harriett grew up in Mobile, AL and Chattanooga, TN. After graduation from high school she attended the University of Alabama where she earned a bachelor's degree in microbiology. She worked in various hospitals in Texas before moving to Media, PA in 1977 where she began working at Crozer-Chester Hospital as a clinical microbiologist. She retired from Crozer-Chester in 2007.
Since her retirement she has been totally devoted to loving and praying for her grandchildren. She loved to spend time with them, playing and talking with them. As soon as one of them would come into her presence, her face would light up and a smile would beam forth.
Harriett loved working in the yard. She loved pulling weeds and would relentlessly search them out. Her training as a microbiologist gave her a keen eye which she used in the yard. She enjoyed cooking especially for her family on holidays and special occasions. She was also an avid reader, especially of current events and political issues of the day.
Apart from her family, her greatest love was for her church, Faith Community Baptist Church, and her Christian friends. She was a prayer warrior and had tearful concern for those who were going through difficult times. She will be woefully missed by those who knew and loved her.
Funeral services will be held at Faith Community Baptist Church, 1585 Glenside Road, Downingtown, PA at 10:00 AM on Friday, October 5th. There will be visitation times with the family from 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Thursday, October 4th at The Donohue Funeral Home, 1627 West Chester Pike, West Chester, PA 19382, 610-431-9000; and 9:00 to 10:00 AM at the church preceding the funeral service. Interment will be at Cumberland Cemetery in Media, PA.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be given in her memory to Faith Community Baptist Church, 1585 Glenside Road, Downingtown, PA.
