Age 84, of Palm Beach, FL,
Philadelphia, PA, and Avalon, NJ, passed away surrounded by his loving family on July 11, 2018.
Hal was former President and CEO of Arco Chemical Company, Co-founder of Freedom Chemical Company, and Chairman of Sorgenti Investment Partners.
His many community contributions include being the former Chairman of the Board of the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, former Chairman of the Board of the Philadelphia Orchestra, former Chairman of the Board of the Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce, former Chairman of the Board of the Chemical Heritage Foundation, and former Chairman of the Board of the Chemical Manufacturing Association.
Hal is survived by his beloved wife of 56 years Ann R. Sorgenti. His loving daughters Elizabeth Sorgenti Paterno , Lucille Sorgenti.
Grandfather to Matthew S. Paterno, Christopher S. Paterno, Roger Reynolds, III and Ann Reynolds.
Beloved cousins James Tarangelo (Rose) and Edward Tarangelo.
Dear Uncle of William Seiberlich, Ann Seiberlich,
Ellen Hardy, Alice Gaibler, Elizabeth Duffy, Dolores Rossman, Joseph Seiberlich,
Janice Sorgenti Wilson, Jill Watson, Lori Akers, James Tarangelo and the late Joan Simmons.
Hal is predeceased by his brother Dr. Robert Sorgenti; his parents Louis and Lucille (nee Sisti) Sorgenti.
Relatives and friends are invited to his Visitation at St. John Newmann, 380 Highland Lane, Bryn Mawr, PA 19010, on Wednesday, July 18, 2018 from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM.
Funeral Mass will follow at 11:00 AM.
Interment at Calvary Cemetery.
