Harold A. "Pete" Lloyd

Harold A. “Pete” Lloyd, age 75, of Upper Darby, PA, passed away on December 11, 2022.  Born in Philadelphia, PA, he was the son of the late Harold E. and Helen E. Lloyd (nee Zebedies).

Pete is survived by his beloved wife of 52 years, Carol A. Lloyd (nee Newman).  Loving father of Florence H. Kinney (J.C.), Peter H. Lloyd, Carl A. Lloyd and Rebecca R. Ashjian.   Dearest Poppy of Conner, Mikala, Alissa, Sydney, Kacie, Alex and the late Karlee Carsia. 

Pete is also survived by his siblings Linda Keenan (Michael Maloney), Dan Lloyd (Jackie) and Richard Lloyd (Sue).  Brother-in-law of Cathy and Rick Bell. Uncle of many nieces and nephews and the late Jeffrey and Michael Keenan.

Pete served in the Navy during the Vietnam era.  He was a Seaman on the USS Charles P. Cecil (DD-835).  He continued his education throughout his various careers in Sales of dental products and hearing aids.

Pete was a loving husband, dad and Poppy.   He loved being with his family, grandchildren and friends.  Gigi & Poppy’s Annual themed Halloween parties for the past 20 years made lasting memories for his family.   Every Christmas he purchased a different membership to various places so he could enjoy spending special time with his family throughout the year.   

Pete loved talking to people and hearing their stories.  He was the most generous, outgoing, caring and honest person.  Pete enjoyed having a good time and never wanted the party to end.  He loved dancing, parties and Motown music.   He was a practical joker so sometimes he was hard to take serious at times.  Pete loved to laugh and when he really got going the tears would start which was the best because he would get everyone else laughing harder.  

He loved to travel locally and abroad.  He especially enjoyed the South Jersey beaches, Italy, Germany, museums and historical forts.  He enjoyed being outside whether it was in the garage building various projects or just sitting on the front porch being with people. 

Relatives and friends are invited to visit the family Sunday, December 18, 2022 3:00-5:00 PM at The Donohue Funeral Home, 8401 West Chester Pike (Cor. Lynn Blvd.), Upper Darby, PA (610) 449-0300 and to his Funeral Mass on Monday, December 19, 2022 10:00 AM at St. Joseph Church, 500 Woodlawn Avenue, Collingdale, PA.  Interment will be private.
