Hanae Nakamura

Hanae Nakamura, age 49, passed away peacefully on September 27, 2023, surrounded at home by loving friends and family.   Beloved daughter of Tetsuya and Sumiko Katayama of Kumamoto, Japan. 

Loving wife of Scott Nakamura and adoring mother to Momoko and Nanako.  Hanae is also survived by her siblings Shigeki and Shinji.

A dedicated teacher, Hanae was a beloved teacher of Japanese Language Arts in The Lower Merion School District.  Her infectious and courageous spirit affected everyone she met, putting others’ ahead of her own needs. Hanae had the determination and resolve to take on her six year battle with cancer, but ultimately it was far more powerful foe. Hanae will be forever loved by all who were blessed to interact with her.

Although she requested to be cremated, friends are invited to Hanae’s visitation on Thursday, October 5, 2023 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at The Donohue Funeral Home, 366 West Lancaster Avenue, Wayne, Pa. Services will be private.
