Guy A. Palmer, 66, of Elverson, PA passed away on March 21, 2018 in Scottsdale, AZ, while traveling on business with his family, after an extended struggle with cancer.
Born in Chester, Delaware County, PA, Guy met and married the love of his life, Joan (Hickman) and they lived in Delaware and Chester counties as they built their family.
As a family, they also built G. A. Palmer Home Improvement and Palmer Performance Horses.
Whether in the construction business or in the equine industry, Guy had a reputation for honesty and integrity, encouraging others, often just a big smile. Words cannot tell his love and dedication as husband, father and friend and he will be deeply missed by many.
He was respected by all who knew him and has left a lasting mark on both personal and business communities where he gave of himself freely.
Among Guy's greatest pleasures was the pride he felt for Joan and Matt in the horse industry, teaching, training and showing and the satisfaction and pride he felt in the work his company produced for customers in his construction business. He often said, "If my name is on it, it has to be right!" What a good way to live your life and a positive force to be remembered by.
Mr. Palmer was predeceased by his father, Archibald A. Palmer and his daughter, Sherrie Ann. In addition to Joan, his wife of 46 years and his son, Matt, Guy is survived by his mother, Norma (nee Van Trump) Palmer; sister, Sandra Reddy (Vijay); brother, Wayne J. Palmer; sister-in-law, Scottie DiGiacomo (Joe); brother-in-law, John Hickman (Teresa); 10 nieces and nephews; and 10 great-nieces and nephews, all of whom he cared for fondly.
Relatives and friends are invited to his Visitation 10:00 AM
