Emblem

Gregory “Greg” Torre went to be with the Lord on April 29, 2025 at the age of 84.

A beloved husband, father, grandfather, employer, and friend, Greg leaves behind a legacy of unwavering character, deep love for others, and entrepreneurial success.

Greg is survived by the love of his life, Christine, with whom he shared over 50 years of marriage. Together they built a loving, laughter-filled home that served as the backdrop for cherished memories. He was a proud father to Sarah (Brett), Joe (Lacey), and Becky (Josh) often bending ears to tell of his kid’s latest accomplishments. His newest title was that of “Da” to his treasured grandchildren Kaiden, Charlotte, and Isaiah.

He was born on July 6, 1940 in Philadelphia to the late Gregory and Mary (nee Aloise) Torre and spent his early years playing with and caring for his cherished, late brothers Tony and Joe.

At 18, he joined the Army and spent the next four years earning a degree in electronics. Greg was among the 100,000 troops sent to Florida for a planned invasion of Cuba during the Cuban Missile Crisis. After the military, he continued serving his country for 18 years by proudly leading a large team building Chinook helicopters at Boeing Vertol.

In 1980, he left Boeing to focus on a new adventure, founding Electronic Security Corp. of America in Ridley Park. Like everything he did, Greg built the company with hard work and integrity, dedicated to providing the very best in security and life safety services to his clients. As anyone who worked with Greg can attest, he built a family, not just a successful security integration company. His love for team members was second only to that of his family and he was honored to call many of the people who worked for him close friends.

Greg’s resilience, determination, and deep care for those around him was propelled by a simple faith in Jesus. If he had been so loved by a Savior, he couldn’t help but love others in return.

Having never met a stranger, Greg took great joy in telling many wonderful and often hilarious stories. A great lover of food, he attended classes with famous chefs and could often be found in the kitchen, experimenting with a new exotic dish or simply making one of his famous pancake breakfasts.

When he wasn’t working on the business, Greg spent many summers at his favorite place – on his boat, in the middle of the bay off Ventnor, New Jersey, with his family and cousin Anthony.
