Gregory S. DeSantis

Greg DeSantis passed away peacefully, at home, surrounded by loved ones, on the evening of March 7, 2022, at the age of 69.  He was born on April 3, 1952 to Joseph and Theresa DeSantis in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Greg enjoyed working with his hands, he began his career working at Metropolitan Hospital in Philadelphia, where he met his wife.  They purchased their first home and started their family in Westbrook Park, PA, later relocating to Broomall, PA.

Greg had an infectious personality and was adored by all, he loved attention and enjoyed sharing stories about his family and friends.  He was known as “Pop” by his biggest fans, his grandchildren, who he enjoyed sharing his hobbies and interests with. (Boy Scouts, Gardening, Trains and  Flight Simulator)  He was a big fan of Philadelphia sports and was regularly heard chanting “Fly Eagles Fly.”  Summer was Greg’s time to shine, he loved being in the sunshine.  He enjoyed fishing, golfing, camping and a nice Saturday evening with his radio tuned to WXPN.

Greg is survived by his wife Janet (nee Dodge) DeSantis, loving Father of Melissa Alexander (Michael) and Leah Cox (Chris), Grandfather of Christopher, Samuel, Lily and Tessa, beloved Brother of Maria DiDomenico (Joe) and many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

Services will be kept private. Those wishing to honor Greg’s life can make a donation, in his name, directly to your local Boy Scouts of America troop or to the Pennsylvania Park Service.
