Gloria Iozzi (nee Polidoro), age 98, of Wallingford, PA passed away on June 26, 2026. Born in Ridley Park, PA, she was the beloved daughter of the late Ettore and Elodia Polidoro (nee Di Iorio).
Gloria was the daughter of immigrants from Chieti, Italy, whose journey began in 1920, Gloria was raised within the industrious spirit of her family’s tailor shop in Collingdale, PA. It was here that she lent her hands to her parent’s craft, becoming an accomplished seamstress herself.
Gloria served as a longstanding member of the Taylor Hospital Women’s Auxiliary and gave her time and talents to many fundraising efforts. Her charitable nature found special expression in her love of knitting. For many years, she lovingly crafted newborn hats for babies at Crozer Chester Hospital.
As a former resident of Swarthmore for 36 years, Gloria served as a Eucharistic Minister at Notre Dame de Lourdes parish. She loved sharing her faith with her community and those around her.
For many years, Gloria found peace and delight as a resident of Stone Harbor, NJ where she enjoyed the beach and fishing, particularly with her grandchildren. Gloria was renowned among her loved ones for her legendary Sunday gravy and meatballs. She loved gathering family and friends around her table in laughter and togetherness.
Gloria was the devoted wife of the late Louis Iozzi, M.D.; loving mother of Louis J. Iozzi (Cynthia) and Susan L. Howie (Douglas); adoring grandmother of Christopher Iozzi (Melisa), Elizabeth Nocella, Douglas L. Howie (Katy), and Andrew Howie; caring great-grandmother of Cole Iozzi and Charlotte Nocella. She is predeceased by her siblings, Vincent Polidoro, Ercole Polidoro, Alfred Polidoro, and Clara Tacconelli.
Family and friends are invited to Gloria’s Visitation 10:00-11:00 AM on Wednesday, July 15th at St. Kevin’s Church, 200 W. Sproul Rd., Springfield, PA 19064, followed by her Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM. Interment SS Peter & Paul Cemetery, Springfield, PA.
