Glenn R. "Dutch" Van Schooneveld

Glenn R. "Dutch" Van Schooneveld, age 97, of Wellington at Hershey's Mill, West Chester, PA, formerly of McLean, VA, passed away on December 23, 2023.

Born in Denver, CO in 1926, he was the son of the late Cornelius Gerrit and Rena (nee Wassenaar) Van Schooneveld. Dutch served honorably in the US Navy during World War ll. He represented Armco Steel and Contech Construction Products in their Washington, D.C. Government Affairs Office.

Dutch enjoyed camping and served as an Assistant Scoutmaster with Boy Scout Troop 1, Needham, Mass. He was a real history buff. Dutch was an avid fan of the Philadelphia Eagles, the Denver Broncos, the Philadelphia Flyers, and the Boston Bruins. He liked to play golf and watch it on TV. Dutch spent 18 years enjoying their summer cottage on Caspian Lake in Vermont. He loved spending time with his family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Dutch was the beloved husband of Elizabeth "B.J." (nee Hanger) Van Schooneveld, with whom he shared 73 years of marriage; loving father of G. Robert Van Schooneveld, Jr. (Joyce) and Hugh G. "Gary" Van Schooneveld (Elizabeth); adoring grandfather of Dave and wife, Katie, Chris and wife, Missy, Jason and wife, Jenessa, Brad and wife, Kelly, Andrew and wife, Jackie, Rob and wife, Darla; caring great-grandfather of 14 great-grandchildren.

Services and interment are private.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of "Dutch" Van Schooneveld may be made to the Salvation Army.
