Geraldine C. Banecker passed away peacefully on May 17, 2025 surrounded by her loving family. Beloved daughter of the late Charles and Margaret (nee Wallens) Pastor.
Geraldine is survived by her children, Joseph E. Banecker (Linda), David Banecker, Diane B. Doering (James), and Brian Banecker (Sebrena); Grandchildren, Gregory, Michael, Jacquie, Claire, Sarah, and Noah; Great-grandchildren, Colton, Ruby, and Carter. Geraldine was predeceased by her husband of 40 years, Joseph E. Banecker, Sr. as well as her sister, Rosemarie Doering.
Geraldine's career as a telecommunications specialist at Colonial Penn spanned many years, during which she showcased her technical expertise and commitment to her work. In addition to her professional endeavors, she devoted countless hours as a volunteer, enriching the lives of others at the Media Library and St. Cyril Church. Her passion for her community extended to her active involvement in Democratic voter registration efforts in Media and Upper Darby, demonstrating her deep commitment to civic engagement and empowerment.
To her family, Geraldine was much more than a dedicated professional; she was a loving mom, an amazing mom-mom, and a great mom-mom. Her affection and care were boundless, and she was especially revered as a great caregiver to her husband until his passing in 2005. Geraldine's nurturing nature and ability to bring joy to those around her will be cherished in the hearts of her family and friends.
She shared a love for travel with her husband and family, creating treasured memories that will serve as a legacy of togetherness and adventure. Geraldine’s life was a rich tapestry woven with love, dedication, and service, which will continue to inspire those who knew her.
Her passing leaves a profound absence in the lives of all who loved her, but her spirit will undoubtedly live on in the countless lives she touched through her kindness, compassion, and service to others. As we celebrate the life of Geraldine C. Banecker, we honor her remarkable commitment to family, community, and the enduring love she provided throughout her years.
Relatives and friends are invited to Geraldine’s Visitation on Friday, July 25, 2025 from 10:00 to 11:00 AM at St. Mary Magdalen Church, 2400 N. Providence Rd., Media, Pennsylvania followed by her Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM. Interment at SS Peter and Paul Cemetery, Springfield, PA.
