George Paynter Robinson

George P. Robinson, 86, passed away peacefully on January 31, 2026. He was born on February 22, 1939, in Philadelphia, PA, to the late Frank Robinson and Helen Robinson (née Miller).

George was a devoted father who took great pride in his family and was always there with a helping hand when it mattered most. He was also a loving and devoted husband to his beloved wife, Mary Robinson (née Martini), with whom he shared over 62 wonderful years of marriage.

An Eagle Scout in his youth, George also distinguished himself as a yo-yo champion, a talent he enjoyed sharing and reminiscing about throughout his life. He proudly served as a member of the United States Coast Guard and carried those values of service and responsibility with him always. He went on to work as an insurance agent in Chester, PA for his entire career.

George was an avid Philadelphia sports fan and particularly loved the Eagles (Go Birds!) and the Phillies.

He spent most of his adult life in Drexel Hill before moving to Merrill Gardens in Glen Mills. There, he could often be spotted on his bright royal blue scooter heading to one of the many activities he enjoyed, with bingo and pinochle club being his favorites. He thoroughly enjoyed his time there and cherished the many new friendships he made.

George is survived by his loving children: Donna Robinson Campo (Michael) and Dennis Robinson (Carole). He was a proud grandfather to Rachel Campo (Matthew), Erin Robinson, Zachery Robinson, and Bridget Robinson, all of whom brought him great joy. He also remained very close with his sisters-in-law, Barbara Monahan and Peggy Martini.

He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Mary Robinson, and his brother, Frank Robinson.

Family and friends are invited to George’s viewing on Thursday, February 5, 2026, from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. at St. Charles Borromeo Church, 3422 Dennison Avenue, Drexel Hill, PA 19026. Interment will follow at St. Peter and Paul Cemetery.
