Gail Denise Burke, age 72, of Philadelphia passed away on September 26th, 2023.
She was the beloved daughter of the late Francis Edward and Mary Elizabeth (née Gallen) Burke.
Gail was the loving sister of the late Maureen Bure Evans, and is survived by her loving siblings John Francis Burke, Anne Denise Burke (twin sister), Susan Burke Peltz, and Thomas Vincent Burke (Xiao-Lan); and the devoted Aunt to her niece Keeley Rose Peltz.
Gail was a graduate of West Catholic Girls High School class of 1969 and went on to become a Phlebotomist by profession receiving her training at Philadelphia General Hospital. She worked for the City of Philadelphia within the clinic systems. She dedicated herself to learning all the new innovations in her medical profession. Her hobbies included reading mystery novels, playing board games, listening to music, and going to the movies. One of her favorite things to do was heading to her beach house in Cape May NJ, relaxing at the beach, and taking in the Victorian history and many events Cape May had to offer.
Gail was the photographer of the family. She was always ready with her camera or video recorder to capture countless memories firsthand. She delighted in her doll collections, notably Ashton Drake dolls.
Gail’s faith was very important to her. She recited the rosary every day and was a regular viewer and found comfort in the Eternal Word Television Network (EWTN), especially Mother Angelica Program.
Gail enjoyed “do it yourself” projects. She was very creative, and most always came up with the most unique creations. She was someone who everyone loved to be around because she radiated joy and happiness. She was the one who baked for the holidays and had Brandy ready for every family toast. Gail was a gentle and caring person who was always giving and willing to lend a hand. Gail’s absence leaves our hearts broken and she will truly be missed by all who were touched by her life.
