Frank G. Murphy

Frank G. Murphy, Esq., of Chadds Ford, PA, passed away on Wednesday, January 31st, at the age of sixty-one surrounded by his wife, Anna-Marie, and two daughters, Natalie and Julianna.

Frank served on the Unionville-Chadds Ford School Board and was ultimately elected as the Chair of the Board of Supervisors of Chadds Ford Township. He has served as an Assistant Solicitor for Delaware County Pennsylvania, Solicitor for the City of Chester Parking Authority, and outside counsel for the City of Chester and several other municipalities. He is Past President of the Alumni Association, and a Member of the Board of Visitors, of the Temple University College of Engineering.  Frank was also a Member of the Board of Directors of the Brandywine Battlefield Park Associates. Frank was extremely proud to be a founding partner of Murphy Maddren Ltd. in Chadds Ford, PA, which was established in 2020. 

Frank has his Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in Mechanical Engineering (Temple B.S. 1985; Penn State M.S. 1986), and is a Magna Cum Laude Graduate of the Temple University School of Law (J.D. 1992).  In 2020, Frank was named to the Temple University Gallery of Success for his contributions to the University.  

Frank was an avid reader, a dedicated Philadelphia sports fan, and an Epcot “drinking around the world” enthusiast. He could always be counted on to know any fact about Ancient Rome or to identify a Beatles’ song from just one note.

Frank will be remembered by his friends and colleagues as a dedicated public servant with the uncanny ability to see all sides of an issue. He will be remembered by his wife and daughters as the greatest dad and husband they could have asked for. 

Relatives and Friends are invited to his Visitation Tuesday February 6^th, 2024, 10:00AM to 12:00PM followed by his 12:00PM Funeral Service at the Donohue Funeral Home, 3300 West Chester Pike, Newtown Square, PA 19073, 610-353-6300. Interment Private.
