Francis Michael Hennigan, Jr., 50, of Glenmoore, PA, passed away October 18, 2025.
Born January 16, 1975 in Philadelphia, PA, he was a son of Susan M. (nee Wheeler) Hennigan and the late Francis M. Hennigan, Sr.
Frank was an accomplished lifetime captain and fisherman who traveled on the water extensively through the Caribbean, South and Central America, and the US east coast. He was particularly proud of showing his fully stamped passport.
Frank was a devoted son, husband and father, always putting the family first. Ever present in the children’s lives; from soccer and flag football games to front yard bonfires, Frank was the ultimate family man. An amazing son, Frank and his mother Sue, were as close as two could be. His multiple best friends only ever got cut short on the phone when Frank told them that Mary or Sue was “beeping in”. Frank’s whole world changed when he met Mary in 2009 and in typical Frank fashion, after marrying in 2011, three kids quickly followed. Mary was the love of Frank’s life, his most perfect gift from God.
Many considered Frank their best friend; he made a point of knowing everyone’s schedule to keep in touch - which made all his friends feel as though they were his top priority. Frank lit up every room he was in, and the party always ended when Frank went to call it a night, often around 7:30pm. Bigger was always better with Frank (his truck, his boat, his snowplow). If anything was offered in multiple sizes, you just got Frank the biggest one. Fishing trips included countless fishing rods, too many coolers, and ice and bait for days. His landscaping and flower boxes could win awards at Longwood Gardens. His signature flower was his Montauk Daisies which he propagated and graciously gave out to all his fellow green thumbs. Frank was a fan of festivities - he was the one that would organize the fun, dress in character, and make it the best holiday. In fact, Frank played Santa Clause on more than one occasion!
Frank’s summers were spent with the family in Wildwood, NJ. Daytime dates with Mary and family pizza at Sam’s on Friday made Frank a happy man. He loved spending time with his friends at the Birdhouse, watching his girls sail, and taking his son Fisher on early morning fishing trips. His original captain’s license and largest annual flounder championship belt (2 time champ) hung proudly on the wall. Maybe self-proclaimed, but mostly true – Frank was the tannest, best arm-wrestling, most hard working, best-fisherman in South Jersey. He was the glue that held an entire community together and his passing leaves a void that will be hard to fill.
Frank was the beloved husband of 14 years of Mary (nee Ennis) Hennigan; loving father of Mollie Rose Hennigan, Maggie Elizabeth Hennigan, and Fisher Ennis Hennigan; dear brother of Sandy Hennigan and Sharon Mascherino; and caring uncle of Aiden Johnson, Francis Mascherino, Brenden Mascherino, and Emily Mascherino. He will also be dearly missed by his dogs Penny and Daisy.
Relatives and friends are invited to his Visitation 9:00 AM to 10:50 AM, Tuesday, October 28, 2025 at St. Elizabeth Church, 110 Saint Elizabeth Drive, Chester Springs, PA 19425, followed by his Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM. Interment is private.
Frank loved life and was not a fan of black clothing. Please keep that in mind as you come to celebrate this great man!
Flowers are welcome at church and donations to the family's gofundme account would be appreciated.
