Francis Edward “Frank” Dengler, of Newtown Square, PA, passed away peacefully at home on September 14, 2026 at the age of 86.
Born in Philadelphia, PA, he was the son of the late Francis and Catharine (née Himsworth) Dengler. Frank was the beloved husband of the late Christine (née Walls) Dengler. He was the loving brother of James Dengler (the late Marie) of West Chester, PA, Karen Hoefling (Rudi) of Wilton, CT, Betty Timoney (Liam) of Philadelphia, PA, and Thomas Dengler (Maryrose) of Newtown Square, PA. He is also survived by his cousin Sister Marguerite Marie de Lourdes (Gail to the family), his dear friend Patty Conneen, and his many nieces and nephews. Frank is predeceased by his sisters, Nancy McGovern (the late Frank) and Joanne Misinkavitch (the late John), and his cousin Peggy Moses (Jim).
Before his retirement, Frank was a long-time employee of General Electric in Southwest Philadelphia as an Expeditor. In his later years, he volunteered for the Little Sisters of the Poor.
Frank was an active member of the St. Anastasia Legion of Mary. He was a devout Catholic who attended daily Mass and prayed regularly for intentions of family, friends, and priests. He was passionate about his precious faith.
As the second oldest of 7 siblings, he loved being with family. He was always there to offer support whenever someone needed anything. We will miss his laugh – he had a great sense of humor and was the kindest of souls.
Frank loved to fish and spend time in Cape May, NJ. He enjoyed watching the Phillies and Eagles, and playing pinochle with his brothers.
We cherish the wonderful life and legacy of our brother Frank. He had just enjoyed a fun visit to the Jersey Shore with family. We are grateful he did not have to suffer or leave the comfort of his home of 40 years. God took him peacefully in his sleep to be with the Lord and his beloved Chris.
Relatives and friends are invited to honor Frank at his services beginning with a Viewing on Friday, September 25, 2026, 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM and followed by a Funeral Mass, 10:30 AM at St. Anastasia Church, 3301 West Chester Pike, Newtown Square, PA. Interment immediately following at SS Peter and Paul Cemetery, Springfield.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Frank’s memory would be appreciated to Little Sisters of the Poor in Philadelphia, PA, https://littlesistersofthepoorphiladelphia.org/donate/.
