Filomena Tinari May 12,1929 — August 10, 2026

Filomena (Beltrame) Tinari, age 97, of Havertown, Pa on August 10, 2026. Beloved wife of the late Nicholas Tinari Sr. and loving mother of Nicholas Tinari, Jr. (Susannah Hunter) and Elaine Benedetti. Sister of Iris Decina and daughter of the late Angelo and Pierina (Filippi-Chiella) Beltrame. Also survived by grandchildren Tommy, Nina (Josh Harper), Julian, Audrey, Emilia and great-granddaughter Lilah.

Filomena (“Memi”) was a graduate of Bartram High School in Philadelphia. Prior to her marriage, she worked as a secretary at the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School. Throughout her child-rearing years she earned extra money for her family by working from home (before that was a thing) as a typist and later in accounting at GMAC in Newtown Square. Always a mom at heart, she worked tirelessly to make her house a home and to take care of everyone she loved. She was an amazing cook. From her much-loved salad dressing, lasagnas and gravy to her grandchildren’s favorite pasta e ceci and homemade pizza she prepared into her 90s, her cooking made every occasion special. Her husband Nick never had a pizza elsewhere that he didn’t say, “It’s not as good as Fil’s.”

She loved babies, feeding you — and then feeding you more — attending her children’s and grandchildren’s events and sharing both silly and precious moments with family. She even overcame her fear of dogs to become a loving dog grandmom. Her grandchildren gave her endless joy in her senior years, and her indomitable spirit never dimmed. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

It’s okay to finally rest now, Mom.

Relatives and friends are invited to honor Filomena at a Visitation on Thursday, August 20, 2026, 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at The Donohue Funeral Home, 3300 West Chester Pike, Newtown Square, PA, followed by a Funeral Service, 11:00 AM. Interment thereafter at SS. Peter and Paul Cemetery, Springfield, PA.
