Evelyn R. Gault

Evelyn R. “Evie” Gault (nee Caputi), age 87, of Upper Darby, PA, passed away on September 1, 2026. Born in Philadelphia, PA, she was the daughter of the late Anthony and Grace Caputi (nee Russo).

Evelyn lived a life defined by devotion to family, steady work, and a genuine love for the community around her. She was a 1956 graduate of West Catholic Girls High School, a milestone that marked the beginning of a life lived with purpose and quiet strength.

Evelyn was known through her work many years ago as a crossing guard for children in Highland Park and St. Laurence schools.

She was deeply rooted in her neighborhood, where everyone knew her and where she returned that affection with wholehearted love for her neighbors and the community she called home. She also found joy in playing Bingo at Cawley’s Tavern, one of the many simple pleasures that brightened her days. Above all else, Evelyn treasured her family. They were the center of her life and the abiding source of her greatest pride and love.

Evelyn was the beloved wife of the late Alfred Joseph Gault; loving mother of Barbara Allen (Mario Zippi) and Deborah Capoferri (Rich); adoring grandmother of Rachel Allen, Nicole DiCrescenca Lofberg (Alex), and Dean DiCrescenca (Lauren).

Family and friends are invited to Evelyn’s Viewing from 10:00-11:00 AM on Friday, September 18, 2026 at The Donohue Funeral Home, 8401 West Chester Pike, Upper Darby, PA 19082, followed by her Funeral Service at 11:00 AM. Interment Private.
