Emma D. Dorrell, a beloved and cherished soul known for her loving, caring, kind, giving, and peaceful nature, passed away on April 28, 2026. Born on April 22, 1948, Emma lived a life deeply rooted in faith, family, and an abiding belief in the importance of togetherness.

Emma was a devoted believer in God and held family bonds sacred, always encouraging those around her to remain united. Her warm spirit and gentle kindness left an indelible mark on her community and all who had the privilege of knowing her.

She found joy in many facets of life, with some of her favorite places to visit including the scenic Pocono Mountains, the vibrant city lights of Las Vegas, the serene shores of South Carolina, and the charming landscapes of Eastern Maryland. Emma had a sweet tooth and delighted in simple pleasures such as Hershey bars and Oreo cookies, a reflection of her sweet and joyful heart. She also had a fondness for jewelry, clothes, and shoes, which she enjoyed as expressions of her style and personality.

Cooking was one of Emma's true passions. She lovingly prepared meals that brought her family together, with her lasagna being especially treasured by all who tasted it. She also cherished quiet moments spent doing crossword puzzles, listening to music, dancing, and watching episodes of Law and Order as well as action-packed movies, all activities that reflected her vibrant and engaged spirit.

Emma’s life was blessed with a wonderful and loving family. She is survived by her children: Barbara Stinson, Regina Armstrong (Wanda Gatling), and Winston Jackson. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren: Lucretia, Maquetia (Matt), Sharaya, Julius, Tia, Donte (Alyssa), Angela, Matthew, Winston III, Noah, Tavaris, Alyssa, and Deion, along with many great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews, who carry forward her loving spirit. Emma is also survived by her sister, Ann Chester, her sister-in-law, Shirley Conyer, and her two very close friends, Carmen Wright and Mitzy Roman.

Emma was preceded in death by her parents Alvin Preston and Mary Ruth (Nee Little) Conyer, her loving fiancé, Frank Pilson, and her sons, Norman Jones and Timothy Jackson.

Her passing is mourned deeply by those who valued her tender heart, gentle wisdom, and steadfast love. Emma’s legacy of faith, family devotion, and unconditional kindness will be remembered and treasured always.

A viewing will be held on May 8, 2026, from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM at Donohue Funeral Home - Upper Darby, located at 8401 W. Chester Pike, Upper Darby, PA 19082. Following the viewing, her funeral service will begin at 11:00 AM, providing family, friends, and all who knew her a moment to gather, reflect, and celebrate the remarkable life of Emma D. Dorrell.

Emma’s life was a testament to grace, love, and peace. She will be missed deeply, yet her spirit will forever remain a comfort and inspiration to all who loved her.
