Ellen Grimes

Ellen R. Grimes was born to the late George and Elizabeth (nee Massey) Rodenhiser in Wilmington, DE, and passed away on May 2, 2021, after a courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by loved ones.

Ellen was the loving mother of Todd Grimes and Jeff Grimes (Shannon); the dear sister of Thomas Rodenhiser (Andrea), and precious aunt of Megan and Katherine (Alex).  She was the devoted grandmother of Jeffrey and Anna.

Ellen completed her Bachelor’s degree at the University of Delaware and enjoyed a career helping others as a social worker.  Ellen was a dedicated mother first and foremost and especially loved her role as Nana.

Ellen courageously took on challenges throughout her life.  Her interests included spending time at the shore, knitting and gardening.  However, her greatest joy was being a mother and grandmother.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, a private family service will be held on Saturday May 8th.
