Ellen A. Curran

Mrs. Ellen Anton Curran, 89, passed away on May 3, 2025, at Lima Estates in Middletown, Pennsylvania.

A lifelong resident of Delaware County, Ellen was born on October 8, 1935, in Havertown, Pennsylvania. She attended Haverford High School and Fitzgerald Mercy School of Nursing. After raising her three children she returned to nursing and practiced as a registered nurse for many years.

Ellen was married to her late husband, George D. Curran for over 55 years. They lived many years at Lima Estates in Middletown Pennsylvania. They loved living there, traveled and had many friends. Ellen and George raised three children: Maryellen Vaughan (Tom), David Curran (Mark), and George D. Curran, Jr. (Judy). She is also survived by her grandchildren: Heather Vaughan (Tom Panico), Luke Vaughan, Lucy Hounsell (James) and Emily Modlich (Kurt). She was also blessed with four great grandchildren: Henry and Daphne Hounsell and Lilly and Owen Modlich. She loved seeing them when they visited, and they loved seeing her.

She was also preceded in death by her brother, Frederick William Anton III.

Ellen was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. She loved her family unconditionally and will be greatly missed.

May her memory bring comfort to those who knew and loved her.

A Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for Saturday, May 10, 2025 at 11:00 AM at St. Mary Magdalen Church, 2400 N. Providence Road, Media, PA. A visitation will be held starting at 10:15 AM. Interment to follow at SS Peter and Paul Cemetery, Springfield, PA.
