Elizabeth Morgan “Libby” Mayer, 76, of Phoenixville, formerly of Malvern, PA, passed away August 29, 2020. Born in Hazleton, PA to the late, Charles F. Mayer and Fay E. Culbertson.
Libby is survived by her daughter, Karen L. Merriman, her godson, David J. Thomas, her siblings Leslie M. Lindsley and Charles F. Mayer, Jr., three nephews, William R. Hagner, Jr., Gregory E. Hagner and Jeffrey A. Hagner, and her beloved granddaughter, Morgan Elizabeth Merriman and her little Jack Russell Terrier, Zach.
Libby graduated from Friends Central High School in 1961, St. Joseph’s University in 1971, with a B.S in Elementary Education, and the Delaware Law School of Widener in 1976, with a J.D. cum laude, and went on to work in the field of law until her retirement.
Libby had many passions, and her commitment and participation in each was 100%, much like the personality of the Jack Russell Terriers she loved. Her passions included talking with friends and family, Road Rallying, being a horse show Mom to her daughter, breeding and showing her Jack Russell Terriers, and traveling with her daughter to dog agility trials to help care for her granddaughter Morgan, the light of Libby’s (Granna’s) life.
One of Libby’s continuing passions was the acquisition of treasures for her extensive Terrier collection, her quest for her collectibles began many years ago when she traveled near and far with her greatest love, Donald E. Wydrzynski, Esquire, who pre-deceased her.
There will be no service at this time; a celebration of Libby’s life will be held at a date to be announced.
