Elizabeth Ann Ngokwey - Obituary

Elizabeth Ann Ngokwey, age 36 of New York, NY, formerly of Delaware County, PA, passed away on April 15, 2024. She was born on October 24, 1987, in Drexel Hill, PA.

Elizabeth's passion for serving others was evident in every facet of her life. Her Bachelor of Social Work from Temple University laid the foundation for her career as a caregiver and nurturer. As a Social Worker, she went above and beyond to support those in need. As a Nanny, she poured her heart into caring for children, embodying the qualities of patience, kindness, and empathy that made her so beloved by all who knew her.

Beyond her professional endeavors, Elizabeth's essence shone through in the way she selflessly gave back to the community. Volunteering for organizations that support aging populations, starting with Eldernet in Pennsylvania and continuing with Dorot once she moved to New Yorkwas one of her favorite and most fulfilling ways to spend time.

She was a frequent blood donor, as it was important for her to do anything she could to be helpful. Being helpful to others was a key pillar of her life. She was devoted to her family and friends and intentional about spending quality time and having quality conversations. She loved planning fun games for children and finding or crafting the perfect gift for loved ones.

Elizabeth’s vibrant personality endeared her to everyone she met. Her love for arts and crafts allowed her creativity to flourish, and poetry, Haikus in particular, was an outlet to express her observations about the world.

Elizabeth contemplated penning a children's book inspired by the profound love she held for her grandmother, Annalise Gambale, and the illustration style of the Dorrie the Little Witch children’s books which she proudly collected.

Elizabeth was the beloved wife of Jimmy Ngokwey, cherished sister of Lauren Reagle and Noelle Gambale, best friend of Brittni Revell and daughter of Deborah Young and William Gambale. She was a caring friend to all who were fortunate enough to know her. Her legacy of kindness, generosity, and sincerity will continue to inspire others for years to come.

Relatives and friends are invited to her Visitation 11:00AM to 12:00PM, Friday, April 26, 2024 at The Donohue Funeral Home 3300 West Chester Pike, Newtown Square, PA 19073, followed by her Memorial Service at 12:00PM. Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery.
