Elizabeth Mulhern

Elizabeth E. Mulhern, 90, of Media, PA, passed away peacefully at home on October 30, 2021 in the presence of her family.

Born in Philadelphia, PA, she was a daughter of the late Patrick and Eleanor (née Burgoyne) Meehan.

Betty was the beloved wife of 70 years of Robert B. Mulhern; loving mother of Mary Ellen Mulhern, Robert B. Mulhern, Jr. (Mary Patricia), Elizabeth Boles (the late Richard), Patricia Loughran (John), Francis Mulhern (Barbara), Ann Driscoll (Robert), Margaret Mulhern (Gregory Martinez), Paul Mulhern (Natasha), Joan Naehr (Gregory), and Kathryn Mulhern; dear sister of Sr. Rita Ann Meehan, RSM, and Margaret Cozzi; grandmother of 21; and great-grandmother of 9. She was predeceased by her brother, James Meehan.

Betty, a graduate of Villa Maria Academy, remained an involved and supportive alumna for many years.  A strong advocate of education, she graduated from Rosemont College after raising her own children.  She appreciated her connections with lifelong friends and many cousins in the U.S. and Ireland. She was a selfless caregiver who enjoyed cooking for her large family for many holidays, reading, gardening, and keeping photo albums of the family.

Relatives and friends are invited to her Visitation 10:00-10:50 AM, Thursday, November 4, 2021 at St. Mary Magdalen Church, 2400 N Providence Rd, Media, PA 19063, followed by her Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM. The Funeral Mass will be livestreamed at https://www.stmarymagdalen.net/live-stream
