Eleanor Mae Gettz

Eleanor M. Gettz (née Reardon), age 88, of Newtown Square, PA, passed away on June 15, 2022.

Born in Berwyn, PA, she was the daughter of the late John and Catherine (née Pension) Reardon.

She was a graduate of Marple Newtown High School then went on to Beauty School; working as a hair stylist for many years. In her later years she worked at Dunwoody Village.

Eleanor was an avid gardener and belonged to the Master Gardeners Program. She cultivated gorgeous blooms and was especially fond of peonies, stargazer lilies, and irises. She was a welcoming souls and was always fun to be around. She loved spending time with her family and friends and enjoyed going out dancing. She will be dearly missed.

Eleanor was the loving mother of Paul C. Gettz, Jr. (Dona) and Dawn M. Burgis (Ira).  She was the devoted mom-mom of Brittany Burgis, Matthew Burgis, Kevin Gettz, and Victoria Gettz and the dear sister of Catherine Souder and Dorothy Carr (Bernard). She is also survived by her brother-in-law, Marty Walsh, and her two sister-in-laws, Gail Reardon, and Evelyn Reardon.  Eleanor was predeceased by her siblings, Helen Walsh, Mary Evans, John Reardon, Charles Reardon, and James Reardon.

Relatives and friends are invited to her Viewing, 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM, Thursday, June 23, 2022 at St. Anastasia Church, 3301 West Chester Pike, Newtown Square, PA  19073, followed by her Funeral Mass at 10:30 AM.  Interment SS. Peter & Paul Cemetery, Springfield, PA.
